Notes
Eight years before the whole world got to know them (via Take Five), Brubeck and saxophonist Paul Desmond display otherworldly telepathy on this 1953 LP. The college crowd reacts with fervid glee as they play These Foolish Things; Perdido; Stardust; the Way You Look Tonight, and How High the Moon. A live-jazz classic!

  • Mature and excellent.

Although this concert was recorded in the early 50's (in mono), the sound is mature and very well recorded. I don't think the popular 60's Brubeck recordings were any better than this.

  • Early Brubeck

Really great recording. Fantastic renditions of How High the Moon, Perdido and others. Iola felt that his best course was to perform at Universities.
