My husband was kind enough to buy me a loom for Christmas because I am very interested in learning how to weave. I was very grateful indeed that he also purchased Deborah Chandler’s well written and presented book ‘Learning to Weave’ along with the loom. I’ve found this book to be an invaluable accompaniment to my loom, it contains everything the novice needs to know when embarking on this hobby, from how to select the best yarn for your project, to how to create beautiful and complex designs. I’m still very much a beginner, and it will take me a very long time to be in a position to accept Chandler’s advice on different kinds of looms (for instance), but I feel sure that this book will be of great benefit to me every step of the way.

This is an excellent book for beginners, it really is good and I wish I had bought it when I first had a loom! It has helped me understand the weaving process, and helped me warp my loom, as well as given me plenty of ideas for things to do and tips for doing them well. When I first opened the book and read through the first chapter I realised I had a friend that was going to help me enjoy weaving and become more proficient at it.
