    Discover The Sonics

    IIRC, I was introduced to The Sonics on Nuggets: Original Artyfacts From the First Psychedelic Era, 1965-1968, which led to purchasing Here Are The Sonics!!!, the band's debut album. Such songs as "Psycho," "Strychnine," and "The Witch" flat knocked me out. When I recently stumbled across, "He's Waitin'," another killer, on Uptight Tonight: The Ultimate 60s Garage Collection, curiosity forced me to jump on the band's second album, Boom. Disappointed? Uh, no! Aside from "He's Waitin'," "Cinderella" also crushes it in Sonics' style! And, of course, the boys burn up oldies such as "Skinny Minny"; "Let the Good Times Roll;" "Jenny, Jenny"; and "Louie Louie." And they can slow it down, too. Slow it down, you say? Yep.
