Although it's described as for use with telescopes, I bought it for use with a binocular microscope. I am very happy with it. It does take time and care to set up, but then works very well. Purchasers need to be clear that it only works with a compact digital camera where the very front of the lens at the widest zoom is no more than about 50 mm (2 in) forward from the camera's tripod mounting bush (allowing for some eyepiece protrusion beyond the clamp). Any more than this and the camera will not fit. The weight of the camera and device means that the microscope (or telescope) must be sturdy and solidly mounted. The field of view is necessarily limited. One way round this is to take several photos at slightly different positions of the subject and then use panorama-creating software to merge them together. I use Adobe Photoshop Elements. The first photo below shows my setup, the second is of a fossil taken with the microscope at x60 – several images merged together and then cropped. (Image sizes reduced in both cases.)Read full review

This is frankly a brilliant device. Very easy to set up and has been well thought out. Its mostly made of aluminium and light enough not to be an issue. It's micron adjustable due to the pitch on the thread meaning it will align spot onto the optics of your scope. I have it set up on my celestron slt 130 and it works perfectly with it. It's worth noting that it's really only intended for a compact camera as there is a length of the camera lense to device optics of around 2 inches.Having said that, a larger and heavier camera might stress the focuser with this type of set up anyway. There is a novel screw lock on the bottom of the camera plate to hold the camera still which I have not quite got my head around just yet, a sort of double nut lock type of affair, but after a slight annoying fiddle I'd managed to work it out OK. . All in all this deserves a 10 out 10. Read full review

The review asks about lenses but there are no lenses in this product. The adapter is good for most cameras but cannot be used where the mounting point is not close to central with the camera lense.

Great quality product and fast shipping. Metal and ABS and sturdy without being too heavy. Tried it with my digital camera on Betelgeuse and image was reasonably good, can see great things once I get the hang of it fully.
