Easy to mix and apply if a little runny initially.

I found this JB weld to be great for repairs to the black plastics on my CBR600. It has created a strong repair, but is not the prettiest and smoothest finish. It mixes easily and is easy to apply if a little runny when first mixed. The quantity is a little small, but that is fair enough for the price.

  • Most critical review

    Not very sticky

I was recommended this product and had high hopes, I was simply trying to fix a plastic tube on a vacuum cleaner. I sanded both parts, cleaned them then applied the glue. Once set they separated easily and then the glue just peeled off in a sheet, this sheet could then quite easily be ripped in half. I mixed the glue 50/50 as per the instructions and tried it twice but it would not stick. I am not sure if I got a bad batch or if I did do something wrong I am happy to admit it if I did but cant see how. Disappointed as wanted the metal bond as well but not convinced any more.

  • Disappointing results sadly.

Before buying I researched reviews which were mixed. On spec it should have been great for my application joining PPE sheet to aluminium to GRP components on custom parts I have carefully made for my motorcycle. Having followed mixing instructions exactly i was disappointed to see the product not hardening nearly as expected. In fact after 24 hours I could mark the bond with my fingernails. This is irrespective of the materials involved. In this application I have resolved in damage limitation to cover the whole area with fibreglass filler to ensure some strength to the fabricated area on my motorcycle bodywork, in the hope that the JB bonded parts do not fall off. Very disappointing as my one off parts are now 'partially bonded' with this product which i expected to be rock hard.

  • Excellent Product

While this adhesive is a more runny than expoy when mixed, it's easy enough to apply if you use a suitable application. Strength is excellent and I'll definitely be using this again for plastic to plastic welds. Can also be sanded easily to achieve a smooth finish.

  • Just the job

Bought this to carry out a repair on the embellisher on a lotus headlight. It's the typical low quality plastic that is known for easily cracking when even a small force is applied. This plastic is called PPO and research seemingly says it's hard to find an adhesive that will work successfully. As it turned out I used a pretty standard rapid epoxy to bond an aluminium strengthener and it worked well. This plastic bonder was excellent when it came to building up the missing sections of plastic that made a bridge over the aluminium section. Easy to dispense and mix, this is also easy to apply. Building up a decent amount wasn't too difficult, it can move with gravity but after a few minutes it has stabilized. It has bonded extremely well to both the plastic and also the aluminium I used. ...
