About this product

Product Information

A Hobo (Rutger Hauer) blows into a lawless town, arms himself with a shotgun, and decides to take down a ruthless crime boss in this violent, neo-exploitation throwback that began as a 'fake' trailer for the Grindhouse Trailer competition at the 2007 South by Southwest Film Festival.

Reviews
Time Out, New York - The sight of Hauer going postal with a double-barreled blaster is about on par with Liam Neeson mowing down Albanian sex traffickers in TAKEN-in other words...kerfawesome!, Rolling Stone - Moralists, beware. HOBO looks like a garish cartoon puked up by a filmmaker overstuffed with cheap thrills and celluloid scuzz. What's not to like?, Hollywod Reporter - Double-barreled mayhem as if Sergio Leone designed a video-game.

  • Django meets Machete

Django meets Machete. While it is no Seven Samuri, and no candidate for the motion picture hall of fame,, HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN is a good tabloid trash film.. One for the splatter fans it's a cool time capsule for 21st century indi-film culture.

  • Brilliant film

  • I didn't expect this...

Rutger is brilliant as the hobo with a sense of justice. A sort of down and out Equaliser but not quite as clever. Everybody body over acts in this film, Goodies and Baddies except for the excellent Molly Dunsworth as the street girl with a heart. Over the top in every sense but great fun.

  • Not terrible but not a classic.Could find an audience with Students/Pseuds.

Title says it all really. A feature film made from the internet trailor entered into a film competition isn't the best of groundings, but i've seen alot worse that was intentional. This isn't for everyone obviously, but if you turn your brain off and get in the spirit of this obvious homage to bad cinema you might get something out of it. Several shock moments/ not for the squeamish, but ultimately quite forgetable- file under 'cult'.
