It seems sturdy enough and holds my Samsung A12 well enough in a shock proof case although it probably wouldn't fit in a wallet style case. I haven't installed it in the car yet but my wife's car has a similar gel suction cup and it is very well stuck to the windscreen. Very happy with the service I received from the seller.

This will ruin whatever surface it sticks to and makes it permanent; the glue is difficult to remove. The arm offers a lot of flexibility, but holds in place without shaking or slipping.
