    Davis Weather Equipment Tops

    As a retired meteorologist, I have had a variety of equipment over the decades. The one brand that continues to be the backbone go to system for me has been Davis. This unit replaces the same model in place for over a decade. Considering the daily harsh Florida sun and 2 hurricanes, nothing will last forever, but this has lasted longer than all else with little regular maintenance or care. Way to go Davis!

    Initial results

    I did not understand the descriptions correctly so wound-up having to make 3 separate purchases. The setup went well and the resulting info. on the display is beyond what I had hoped for It has been working less than a week so time will tell the the lasting quality. The price is high but if the quality last then the price will be worth it, thank you.

    Vantage vue

    This is the second one I’ve had. First one only lasted about three years. Worked great until it failed. In talking with the factory it seems they have a problem with the transmitter failing.remains to be seen how this one does. If it fails, I will get a different brand.

    Last Weather Station you will ever buy.

    This is my 5th weather station. I've tried most of them and found them to be deficient. However, when I tried the Davis unit things improved dramatically. I was surprised to find that the Lithium battery lasted 5 years without needing to be changed! Additionally, this is the 1st weather station that actually works when it rains. I live 500' from the Pacific Ocean (Oregon Coast) and most weather stations in this environment don't last very long. The Davis unit has outlasted them all. My only complaint is that this unit is NOT cheap but in this case you get what you pay for. I did appreciate that I could replace just the outside unit without having to purchase the entire system. I HIGHLY recommend this system. -Stu
