    I fitted this item to a 1990's Hornby 8f with tender drive. This conversion works very well, there were no issues with fitting and its a huge improvement on the old motor. The 10 tooth pinion works fine even though the old motor had an eleven tooth originally. It is worth fitting the diode step down as this gives a much better speed range on 12v.
