Old & New Alternator Belt Comparison...
My old belt had reduced in width from 10mm to 9mm and was slipping when I added extra load on the alternator (lights / wipers etc), so time for new belt. My last belt was from Halfords, this new belt was less than half Halford's price and had the same part number. There is a difference between my old belt and the new one (appart from the obvious worn width), the internal teeth on my old belt are quite beefy thick teeth whereas the new belt teeth are relatively flimsy, I don't think there will be any problems with this new belt, but the old belt looks to be stronger made. My old belt has lasted for over 10 years, so as long as this new belt doesn't stretch/slip and wear, all should be good.
