Discs used in a Dremel to cut 0.6mm wide slots in HSS cutting tools. Discs seem to wear quite quickly and when the diamond coating has worn off, the disc is useless - it cuts nothing and just gets hot. Ok for very small scale jobs, such as model making, but if you cut across one 1/2" diameter steel rod or bolt, the disc will be worn out.

Couldn't refuse the offer but was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the discs and how well they coped with several different materials. As with any electric hand tool cutter you have to be fairly careful to hold the tool and workpiece firm and steady but these discs performed very well. Great item for the money; ideal to keep handy for those awkward trimming jobs!

These discs are designed for small electric hand tools such as the Dremmel. The cutters are delicate and cannot withstand any pressure. You ned to let them work at their own pace and speed. They do the job they were designed for, but I would say these are suitable for modellers and fine metal/glass work. Being "diamond" does not mean that they wear down less quickly than standard cutters. It just mean they can cut harder objects. the wear is exactly the same.

Cuts through metal and other hard material well. Not so good for plastics, but these are a grinding wheels so that is hardly surprising. These wheels are stronger than aluminium oxide so should last longer and the spindle supplied is strong too, (3mm diameter at the drill chuck end). Have not used for an extended period so have no wear rate information.

Cutting discs were great, unfortunately the mandrel was too big, although it said it was 1/8. I just used another one I had for my Dremel, but discs were great.
