    I'm a real baker now!

    Always daunted by scratch cakes; too heavy,too sweet, to difficult and expensive? Not here!This book has given even the most casual baker the ability and knowledge to create masterpiece after masterpiece!There are quite a few recipes, most of which are simple and ALL VERY tasty, BUT you must pay attention and follow directions! Love the way it guides you with the different kinds of cakes (foamy vs butter, casual and formal), directions are clear,pictures are beautiful. Only down side, it's so pretty, I'm afraid to use it as I'm baking! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

    For those who love making cakes

    Cakes are one of my favorite things to make and when I saw some recipes from this book posted on dessert blogs, I knew I had to have it. Many cake cookbooks focus on decorating or cakes that are not accessible to regular home bakers. This one is different. There are some inventive flavors, but nothing crazy. And it's focused on delicious cakes, not how they look. All the recipes sound delicious, and I can't wait to try them. I plan to make my first cake from the book for Mother's Day.

    Best cake book ever. Seriously.

    This book is out of print and very hard to come by, but it's got the best cake recipes I've ever found. I lost my copy in a recent move, and was so glad to find this book in excellent condition at such a great price. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone looking for beautiful basic recipes (no wonky, rare ingredients called for!) that can be easily upgraded--basic white/chocolate cakes, easy buttercreams and frostings, lots of good general baking advice. I've made maybe 30 of the cakes in this book, and every single one has gotten rave reviews.
