Item is functional, but I'd advise spending a little bit more for a higher quality one (I got a better used one for £6.90). It does feel rather cheap (mainly with its thin cable) so I'm not sure how long it'll last. Note that on Windows 10, it acts as a CD until you install the driver on it. The application isn't signed (although presumably the driver itself is) so run at your own risk. It's not compatible with the Switch as that only supports specific chipsets. Android doesn't need a driver.

Initially appears as a CD drive, when fist plugged in. You need to download the driver for "Corechips SR9900 driver". This seller should provide a driver disc or link for this product, but they don't. I am a IT Engineer and knew how to do this, Gen public may struggle or not know what to do. Poor supplier service in my opinion. But once driver downloaded and installed, the product works ok. However I suggest purchase from another supplier a higher quality-better product for hassle free.

    Excelklent adapter at a great price

    The usb2-RJ45 ethernet adapters have been working without any problems on my Linux Mint 21.2 laptop and also on a Raspberry Pi. Win 10 is a little bit trickier. When first plugged in the dongle appears as a "CD ROM" drive containing an SS9900.exe file. You need to run this so that Win 10 has drivers for the dongle. The pseudo CD ROM then disappears and the adapter works!

    Works but very poor quality item

    The product did work but the cable sheath split at both ends within a few days. This is a very poor quality item. However, it did allow me to decide that I needed one so I felt justified in buying a more expensive replacement!
