Only if you don't have the original
"Remastered" you say? Only if you spell it "Cash grab" Let's be clear, Ride the lightning is a fantastic record but I have the original and some bloody expensive hifi equipment to play it on and by that I mean the sort of gear that will point out the differences in recording between individual tracks. So why then can I not detect any difference between my ancient original cd and the spanking new remaster? This is an excellent example of the cynical record industry practice of run the original by a noise gate (low setting to "preserve the original feel") and call it digitally remastered! If you really want to hear a true remaster done with care and attention then I'd like to point the reader in the direction of Death's (RIP Chuck Shuldiner) Human and Individual Thought Patterns.
