Not as good as the old days.
I have utilized the internet and you-tube videos for the last 2 decades, for the most part, to help with minor to mid level automotive repairs. Just recently I could not find what I needed and decided to order this book. Mistake. The direction in these books is sub-par compared to when I used to use them in the 90's. The index does not cross reference well and can be confusing; you almost have to look at the entire thing with hopes of finding what you need. And I have two years of automotive education under my belt and have worked on my own cars for over 30 years. In this instance I needed to replace a sensor. The directions took me through multiple sections in the book and it was almost worthless information. It just provided a close up picture of where the sensor is located on the ... If you had some experience or not, it was a breeze. Even after purchasing this book I still had to go back and do some research on the internet and finally found the information I needed. Very frustrating.
