First off I bought it to complete my Dukes movie set. Now I have all 4. Second Sean William Scott is one of my favorite comedic actors. Third It had comedy, action, car jumps. Also Jessica Simpson in her prime was very hot in the movie. Not the originals. But worth buying if you're fan of the Dukes.

I bought two of these because the discs just won't play past half-way, poor quality discs for mass production, they skip and stick in the player, but it is a good movie, finally the third one worked consistently. Buy new, used may look okay, but they don't often play. Looked like oil sheen or heat damage in the one, but it was cheap enough not to complain. Take your chances, its a good movie, just buy new if you get a choice, and then cross your fingers.

This remake of The Dukes of Hazzard is quite comical, while offering many of the great older-style stunts with The General Lee that you would find in the original series. As for the actors/actresses performances, we were glad to see Seann William Scott play a great part, Simpson did an "okay" job, and the others were mediocre. Its a fun movie to watch, but nothing will ever compare to the Original Series! Definitely a movie we didnt mind purchasing and adding to our extensive Home Theatre Collection. If you like a lot of action, and comedy all rolled into one, we recommend it. We rate it 7/10!! One feature the guys should enjoy, is the Simpson video "These Boots are Made for Walking", which is a Bonus included with the DVD/UNRATED version. Note: this movie does contain some minor nudity, so PG13/PG17 is recommended.Read full review
This is the first movie spin-off from the Dukes Of Hazzard tv series. It continues off with the screw ball brothers running moonshine, chasing women, and wanting to help get Uncle Jesse money to get his property back from Boss Hogg. The acting in the movie was not too bad, the General Lee is still an awesome vehicle. The storyline is about the same as it was in the tv series, the stunts in the movie were kinda aoutta there, but you can make anything work on tv nowadays. I would rate the acting in this movie a B, stunts/action a B+, storyline a C, overall I would rate the movie a B. Thanks
I bought it because my hubby and I loved the original series. Also he likes Jessica Simpson. But we both agree the over use of the "F" word, the ridiculous look of Burt the Shmurt Reynolds as Boss Hogg and the almost evil and completely not funny portrayal of the sheriff really kills the movie. Jessica's barely there costumes and showy leg and butt shots didnt help revive the story line. It is a good vehicle for gratuitous sexy shots and a very un-subtle bunch of sex jokes and inferences, not much else. Car was OK though.
I hated this movie when it came out in 2005, but oddly enough, after growing up, this movie actually aged well with time. And, didn't fall into the trap of political correctness, in fact, it mocked it.

Unlike the compact, well scripted and cast television version, this drags on. Even the stunts are over the top and hardly watchable. Obviously it does not take a classically trained actor to play the Dukes or Daisy for that matter, but director Jay Chandrasekhar fails to get much out of an all-star cast. The exception being Willie Nelson, which came across as born to portray his part. You have to wonder if there is not a little moonshining in his past. The experience is better suited for youngsters that are not so familiar with the original.
Definitely a very entertaining, funny and enjoyable movie to watch!
