The velcro should be two snap button or a clasp. I bought it for added capacity on a motorcycle and the flap release itself from the velcro under force of wind and "flaps" in the wind ... not ideal, but it is true to its name at least. If you don't intend to expose it to hurricane force winds you should be fine.
