Heavyweight 180 gm vinyl LP repressing - in gatefold sleeve - of this album from the rock superstar housed in a faithfully recreated LP sleeve containing all the elements of the original release. Born to Run is the third studio album by the American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen. It was released on August 25, 1975 through Columbia Records. Representing Springsteen's effort to break into the mainstream, Born to Run was a critical and commercial success. It peaked at number three on the Billboard 200, eventually selling six million copies in the US by the year 2000. Two singles were released from the album: "Born to Run" and "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out"; the first helped Springsteen to reach mainstream popularity. The tracks "Thunder Road" and "Jungleland" became staples of album-oriented rock radio and Springsteen concert high points. Born to Run garnered widespread critical acclaim. Praise centered on it's production quality and Springsteen's songwriting, which focuses on the coming of age of average teenagers and young adults in New Jersey and New York City.

    A voice of authentic power in the void of despair

    At a time bereft of street poetry mixed with workingman rock, Springsteen hits a home run here. Seminal work really. Certainly on the list of the 50 greatest LPs of all time - especially if you live your life working with your hands. It is worth owning for Springsteen's guitar work and "The Big Man's" saxophone playing alone, along with the raw integrity in that voice of his. Art on vinyl. Only weakness is Max's unimaginative, stale sounding drumming - overrated. Don't let that stop you, just buy it.

    Born To Run's Wall Of Sound

    Why buy an album you probably already have? The difference is night and day with this updated pressing of Born To Run. It is crystal clear and you hear little bits of sonic magic that were previously just buried. Bruce's first four albums suffered from poor translations from studio to vinyl. It is corrected here and worth buying all over again. Meant to be played from start to finish.

    Beautiful Album

    I was more worried about the album cover then the album. I have one album with a " half speed master" label on it that I bought when the album was originally released displayed on a wall and always wanted another to show the back. Looks brand new.
