A great book warrants a great production
Prodded to reread W&P by the dreadful BBC series, I found my tattered paperback version (used to death actually) unreadable, so decided to invest in this Everyman version. What a luxury to find a book that is easy in the hand, bound firmly but easily held open, and clearly printed on truly white paper. I'm reading twice as fast, too! And as everyone knows, the tale is full of action and thought and sweeping perspectives - yet deeply human. Not at all daunting if you take it in chunks.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Beautiful edition, even more beautiful story
The three volumes in this adition amount up to more than 1,500 pages, but halfway through the first volume, already I felt like I did not want the story to end. Tolstoy writes beautifully and the depiction of life in 19th century Russia is incredibly rich and vivid. lovely books
I know the story as I have seen three different productions and love it. These books are special. I love they are in three volumes, in a box cover. I love the weight, the feel and the smell of these books and any book. The only thing I do not like is the use of another language without a translation, which occurs only occasionally.
