Works perfectly with many of the MicroPython libraries out there. Comes with the pins to solder on. Sure beats using a 74HC595 SIPO IC. 4 wires the on board chip does all the bit banging for you! I tried it on a RPi Pico bit it also worked on several other boards from Arduino and Adafruit. If you MCU can run MicroPython it will work. Also true for C/C++. Likely CircuitPython as well.
