Essentials range great value for money. Only setback the size of bread slices. Made for the smaller size as standard sized sticks out approx 1", therefore having to manually take out and put back in to finish off. Doesn't bother me, but may be not for everyone in doing this.

The toaster toasts fine.. If you can fit something in it! but unfortunately the slots are very small. Height-wise: A normal slice of bread sticks out the top Breadth-wise: the slots are too thin to even put the ends of the bread in, or even a crumpet... So basically would only actually fit a slice of bread from a small loaf and nothing else. Yes, its a cheap price, but you would expect a toaster to at least be able to fit normal things in it.

Quick toaster however find it a bit small. Would be ok for someone on their own and using the small loaf. The supermarkets own brand of bread fit in it however Warburton and kingsmill are too big which means you have to turn it halfway.

for the price, i wouldn't expect anything more in terms of features. adequate for single person or small family.

The toaster was cheap and that is why I bought it, however, it is not as good as other cheaper toasters which I have previously purchased. My main complaint is that the toaster slots only accommodate thin slices of bread and are too narrow for crumpets or thicker bread. I should have checked this before I purchase the item. It is a good, basic toaster to use with standard, sliced bread.
