The item works well although the instructions could be more clearly written. As I needed to measure the flat shaft end of a motor, the supplied flat shaft contact was too wide to fit through the hole in the end of the motor housing, I needed to make a new tip that was narrower in diameter. Luckily, I found something in my spare parts that did the trick.
The photos below show the new tip in comparison with the original.
