    Great addition to my Biblical Study Library

    I am a Christian and love reading and studying the Bible. I purchase the Complete Jewish Bible and learned about the Jewish New Testament Commentary and decided this would be another good addition to my Bible Study books. It is interesting from a modern Messianic Jewish believer's perspective. There are things he mentions that I had not really thought of before. His insights and commentary opens my mind to what Jesus might have thought about and studied as a Jew in the Holy Land. I like that he uses Hebrew words in both the Bible and the Commentary, it is a good way to add to my Hebrew words. Adding Hebrew words to my Bible Study is something I have been trying to do since I studied many of the Hebrew names for God and Jesus. I am very happy with this purchase and would encourage ...

    good study help, well worth the price

    If you want a brief Jewish perspective on the New Testament this is a good book. It doesn't go on and on but still will broaden your thinking. We often forget these were Jewish people writing these with an ancient Jewish way of understanding things, not our modern outlook. I wish he had one on the Old Testament as well.

    For theologians and lay persons alike.

    I had this book before and I lost it. It was so good I had to buy it again. This is the second best book next to the bible, because it discusses and explains the bible from a biblical and historical context.

    Excellent Tool for Understanding The New Testament

    I highly recommend this resource because it sheds light on the culture and practices of Yeshua's time thereby shedding light on the scriptures themselves. Context is the key to understanding the teachings of Yeshua and also the apostles and this book provides deeper explainations of most New Testament Scripture. Very easy to use.

    Jewish New Testament Commentary by David H. Stern

    Stern's attempt to 'write the New Testament with a Jewish perspective' is excellent and well achieved. Christ was a Jew, and too many 'Christians' seem to discount that fact. This supplement to Stern's Jewish New Testament explains Greek terminology with additional meanings to clarify the 'message' and produce better understanding that Jesus Christ was the Son of God, the Redeemer and Messiah. Outstanding in every way.
