The lens is even better than the pictures shown. Its beautiful. Seller has the absolute best communication I've experienced on Ebay, all the way to sending a delivery map from DHL for me to follow. Price was perfect, packing was 100% professional and the lens shipped out the very next day. It arrived here from Japan faster than packages from the states. Incredible transaction and I will be returning for future purchases without a doubt. A+~ Thank you again!

The lens was carefully bubble-wrapped and came as it was exactly described. The delivery time was super short and the seller is so responsive. I'm so satisfied and pleased buying this lens. I highly recommend this store. 🤜🤛

Great packaging, they took extra measures to add foam bags. The camera looks just like the images! excellent condition. Excellent communication from the seller; they shipped in 1 day and got delivered the next day. I was surprised to see a handwritten note inside thanking for the purchase. Very happy with the purchase so far, will have to wait for the results from the film.

    Flawed classic

There are a lot of poor reviews of this classic old E series Nikon online. This is the second generation version with the metal silver band round the middle. The first generation, all black plastic version looks a bit like a kids toy lens, although is better than it appears. This one is better again but still gets a hard time from reviewers. Main issue is the soft corners at anything below f8, but in my experience very few 28mm lens' from that era are much better wide open. Personally I love this lens, it has it's own personality and 'look' and it's fine and sharp across all but the corners. Great for B&W 35mm film on my Nikon FG and it's beautifully made. £70 gets you a minter, £30 gets you some body scuffs and dusty optics.

  • Nikon 50mm f1.8D lens

Nikon calls this the Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D. I bought this lens for its speed of focus, its sharp images and the ability to work in low light levels. It is quite cheap in comparison with other Nikon lenses. I have a Nikon D700 and this lens is relatively light (5½ ounces) which makes it a lighter load to hump about. The lens is not a (G) type lens so you are able to choose any f stop number rather than rely on than your camera. It is a full-frame lens, compatible with any Nikon SLR and the picture quality is superb. Why did I buy it when I have a Nikon zoom covering this focal length? Ease of carrying it around and image quality are the answer. Of course, if money were no object I might well have preferred the 50mm f1.4 but this cheaper lens is still great value since you ...

  • Don't believe the nay-sayers.

If you're looking at this lens, then you (probably should) know the story. No-one seems to like this lens online,, EXCEPT the user reviews,, hmmm. Well here's another one, if you get a minty for around £60-70 then GRAB it. I use this little gem on my d7000 & d7100 and I love it. Fantastic walkabout/Street photography focal length, and my copy is SHARP! For this money, for this quality, you're mad if you don't!

  • One of Nikon's finest

As with most of the pre-AF Nikkor lenses, this one is beautifully made and has only recently gone out of production. Everything works so nicely and because it is made with metal instead of plastic it will last decades, maybe even centuries! The results are, as expected, stunning and many reviews attest to the Ai-s version of the 28mm being one of Nikon's finest. The lens features "CRC" to aid close focusing and the coating on the later Nikkors, including this one, cuts flare and increases contrast. The lens is also made in Japan and the quality shows. With film making a strong comeback the Nikon 28mm f2.8 Ai-s should be part of everyone's kit along with the classic 105mm f2.5 and the 50mm f1.8 which is sharper than the more popular 1.4.
