Great device, worth it just for Netflix
I have been using the Chromecast for a few days now, I'm very impressed with the ease of use & features. It has transformed my non smart TV into much more expensive equivalent, for a fraction of the cost. Using your smartphone or tablet to control it is simple, it also means you don't have to add to the remote collection :D Will be buying another for my parents, as they love catch up services, it really is just plug & play. Picture runs at 1080p 60fps, so visually the video quality is smooth and clear, the audio quality is also perfect. The wifi only connection has worked flawlessly, even though it's quite far from the router. The design of the dongle is compact & you can fit it on wall mounted TVs easier than the previous models, it beats having a clunky set top box. I've never really ... Fantastic service & price
I'm loving Argos at the minute. Fast track is wonderful. I already have a chromecast and love it, we've got one for each TV in our house. Recommend this and bought it for my aunt & brother-in-law (who had an all cast device) It is lots better than any other casting device. You can cast to it and close the app your casting with and it will keep playing you can even cast & leave the house and it will still play. If you have Netflix it is fantastic. We also have the amazon firestick which is ok and does the same but only perk is the film & TV direct but you have to pay for prime to fully benefit. I would highly recommend the Chromecast to anyone who wants to turn their TV into a smart TV. Really easy to set up but might take a while first time as it may need to update. Good, but some limitations
To be fair, this is a very good product for a very reasonable price. It's pretty easy to set up and does its job well, i.e. streaming tv programmes either via my browser or direct from the router. There are a few things that would make it even better though. I would be nice if more streaming services offered Chromecast support. This would avoid tying up my laptop when watching UKTV etc. Also, the Chromecast cannot directly cast things like photos from my computer without the use of third party software such as Plex.To be fair, this is a very good product for a very reasonable price.
