Ants that cannibalize the living and an original creature too.
Filmed in the South African city of Cape Town and in the Nambia Desert this movie is a British-Canadian horror film based on a screenplay by Malcolm Kohll and Gordon Render. The film is about a crew of geologists on a diamond expedition who go missing and as time passes with no radio response, concern begins to grow about the situation so Dr. Zack Straker and a search team are sent to find out why they lost radio contact with them. As they arrive at the camp site the search team discover an unusual rock formation and scattered around are human bones of the geologists literally picked clean, and with the investigation unfolding and darkness setting in, it is not long before the search team is confronted with the Bone Snatcher that the local native herdsmen call (Esikhulu), a monster which ... An original new creature composed of ants with a higher bug brain that envelops the body and bones of their consumed victims. Also found the totem poles in the wind swept desert to be a nice touch for this film. The acting was fair but at times to slow for my taste. This version is the limited edition of the film released in 2009, the DVD is no different than the retail version the only deference is this one has a steel cover which I found to be real cool thats why I bought it. The original movie was actually released in DVD format in 2004.
