If you're a Mel Brooks fan, then this is the movie for you! This film has loads of laughter and everything else. Most of the actors who stared in Mel's 1974 comedy film "Young Frankenstein" are in this movie. I remember when I saw this movie in the theaters, I was pushing 11. This film was released the same year that Caveman and Clash of the Titans was released. History of the World Part 1 is a true comedy classic. You'll laugh yourself silly! I think the most memberable dialog in this movie was "It's good to be the king!" This was made back then when movies were the real thing! If you haven't seen it, rent it from your local video store! It's a riot of laughs!
I like Mel Brooks Movies and this is one of his best, his productions are a little off color but what can I say, they are humorous. I had wanted this paticular movie for a long time and had great difficultly finding it, but it was worth it.
This is an incredibly funny Spoof comidy that takes use Through The fist Million or so years of human Life From Homo-Erectus (Monkeys lerning to Jerk off) To mosses Being handed the 15 Comandments (only to drop 5 on the way down the Mountain) and Finally Ends With a Hilarious Preview of Hitler on Ice!!!
Not only was this VHS video in pristine condition, it was even funnier than I'd remembered and had even more comedic actors than I'd remembered. Even the *stupidest* parts were still funny. That's just part of its charm!
This movie is one of the cleverest and truly funny films that Mel Books as produced and stared in.If you like subtile or just plain old vaudeville comedy check this film out.
