    I'm a huge Ann Tyler fan and have read many of her books in my book discussion group. Although I liked Digging to America, I would not consider it one of her better undertakings; in fact, none of us in the book group gave it the usualy high marks. Although the story starts with the adoption of two Korean baby girls, one by an American couple and the other by an Iranian couple, the crux of the story is not about the girls at all but about two of the grandparents who are navigating their feelings for one another. The gentleman is a lonely widow and the woman is an Iranian transplant who is still assimilating to American culture. • Perfect summer reading

    If you have adopted, thought about adopting, or just love kids in general, this is the perfect book. It is heartwarming, funny, sad and kind of makes you wish you knew these families so you could be part of their lives with their adorable little girls. Easy, light reading but filled with such emotion you will find it impossible to put down.

  • Digging to America by Anne Tyler

    This is a very good book. Anyone who is contemplating adopting a child from outside the United States would fine it interesting to read. It is also a very good read for anyone else. I always enjoy Anne Tyler's books and this one is as good as any and better than some. I recommend this book.

  • Great ebay seller******A+++++

    This book was chosen for my book club. I really enjoy Anne Tyler's books, especially because Digging to America was center in the Baltimore area. This is a very easy read.
