Die Papierfabrik Zwingen teilt ihr Schicksal mit vielen Produktionsstatten des Industriezeitalters. 1913 errichtet und in den Sechzigerjahren ausgebaut, schloss sie 2004 ihre Tore und wurde zu einer der vielen Industrieruinen, die einer Neunutzung harren. Nicht nur die jungere Geschichte des Laufentals (BL), sondern auch unzahlige Biografien sind mit der Fabrik und ihrem Ende verknupft. Das Ausstellungsprojekt Living Memory ruft die zum Teil verschuttete Geschichte der Papierfabrik Zwingen vor Ort in Erinnerung. Sie leistet asthetische Erinnerungsarbeit. Das vorliegende Buch, das aus Anlass der Ausstellung Living Memory entstand, ist mehr als eine blosse Dokumentation. Es ist das Ergebnis einer kunstlerischen und kuratorischen Spurensuche.
