    A classic. See it if you haven't already - it more than stands up to the test of time.

    A holiday turned nightmare in which morality is turned on its head, Deliverance forces its protagonists through a moral meat-grinder. Those who seem threatening become vindicated by their own simplicity. Those, on the other hand, who initially view their social perspective as being more complex, and themselves as savvier, disintegrate from being middle-class suburbanites into lying savages. The whole movie is a chilling reminder of what lurks only skin deep in many who would consider themselves socially superior. The acting is epoch-making in its unapologetic exploration of the innate vulnerabilities of the archetypal tough-guy. This is a deeply unsettling, compelling piece of cinema which stands the test of time admirably.

    Some violence but story line unusual and gritty.

    Unusual and engaging film.

    It's an excellent film and doesn't seem at all dated notwithstanding that it goes back to 1972. Unusual and original plot and very well acted.
