Reviews
"Reading Kent Rollins' chuck wagon recipes -- no fancy ingredients here -- and gazing at his wife, Shannon's, mouthwatering photos -- no fancy food stylists here -- are as comforting as a campfire and a guitar. Their book is right out of a Currier and Ives print, full of cast iron, logs, masa, cornmeal, smoke, frying, and the Oklahoma cowboy drawl. If you ever wanted to be a cowboy when you grew up -- as did I -- and ride, and rope, and brand, and cook under the stars, then this book is as close as you can get." -- Meathead, barbecue whisperer of AmazingRibs.com , and bestselling author of Meathead "Shannon and Kent Rollins exemplify quintessential rural America, a place where family values are sacred and community ties are strong. Weaving family recipes with deeply personal stories, they take you on a spiritual journey, giving you a glimpse of a slow and deliberate lifestyle that remains unmarked by time. You'll be inspired to gather your own family around the table, feed them with these delicious dishes, and create in your own home the tangible feelings of love, warmth, and fellowship that spill from the pages of Faith, Family, & the Feast ." --Amy Mills and Mike Mills, owners of 17th Street Barbecue and authors of Peace, Love, and Barbecue and Praise the Lard "Authentic and delicious! Kent Rollins knows food, and he knows how to bring stories of the American West to life. It doesn't get any better than the great food with original ingredients that Kent shares in this cookbook. I'm a big fan." --General (Retired) Tommy Franks

The item came as described was packaged pretty good book was in good shape, just as the description described. I tried to contact seller twice and never got a response other then that the transaction went pretty good if seller tried harder to answer questions i would have given a 5 star review but because i had trouble getting in contact with him, and still haven’t heard from them and book is already delivered ill leave a 4 star review i would recommend this seller

Just as described, book is in a very good condition besides minor folds but that was expected. The only complaint is that the packaging was ripped, thankfully it didn’t rain by the time it got delivered bc otherwise it would’ve been damaged. Good product overall.

Kent Rollins makes cooking fun - wish each recipe had a QR code linking it to a video

Kent Rollins makes cooking fun. He makes me smile. I wasn't sure what I'd be getting with this particular cookbook. But over all, it works for fun family cookouts and always highlights the idea that we are doing this because we love our families and like feeding them good food. Watching him on YouTube always makes me smile. If he had a code on each recipe which took the reader to the on-line video where he cooked it... it would be five stars.

  • More than a cookbook

Much more than a cookbook! With humor, patriotism, glimpses of life’s realities and inclusion of Faith (as included in the title), the book is a source for wisdom and fun. In addition to the copies I have at home I have given copies to several good friends who I know will appreciate Kent and Shannon (and the Beagle).

  • Motivation on a simple level

This book has some very good basic recipes that will prompt you to try something new with the ingredients already in your kitchen. The cobbler was made by a non-baker, and it came out wonderful the first time.
