About this product

Product Information

This is a further title for the "Essential Grammars Series"---a simple non technical treatment of the structural patterns of modern German. All the essentials of the grammar will be covered, but many of the smaller exceptions to the many rules and colloquial variants will not be dealt with. In an effort to keep it user friendly the author will avoid phonetic symbols and incorporate a glossary of grammatical terminology. Some functional material will be included within the description of relevant structural features of the language.

  • There are no shortcuts to knowledge

There are many textbooks about German grammar, in many languish, to teach you the secrets of that particular idiom, from professors of mother languish to foreigners. Roughly the books can divided in two categories: those that want you really learn, because knowledge is important, and they try to find the clearest and simplest way to front language. And those that are a little envious to makle you learn, because they can lose some of their power; yes they tell you many things, but there is always some untold to keep you "nel limbo", never really in paradise, even if surely not in the hell. The book by Bruce Donaldson, German, An Essential Grammar, Routledge, belongs "alla grande", definitely, to the first group.
