  • Dated, tongue in cheek but still entertaining

I remember enjoying this when it was first broadcast in 1981, and have been meaning to get a copy ever since. Cheryl Campbell is perhaps a 'B list' actress, but in my opinion this is her best role. Accompanied by regular veterans John Gielgud and Harry Andrews, she plays out the semi-comic roll of Bundle Brent really convincingly. It is a feel good murder mystery, if there is such a thing. The story itself is of course pretty unrealistic, but great fun nonetheless. Video quality is what you might expect from the early 1980s. But the production of the disc itself is really quite poor. It is like someone has recorded the show off the TV, and thrown it unedited onto a DVD. No scene selection. And the gap for the adverts has been left in place, with no attempt to transition to the next ...
