Won’t fit a sherline lathe.
I bought this thinking that it would enable me to fit my Unimat Chucks and collets onto a Sherline lathe but it won’t fit. Although the thread appears to be correct it has a deep recess for a register, which the Sherline chucks do not, so that the length of engagement with threads of the spindle would be minimal, but more importantly the threads of the adapter bind with the spindle threads of the lathe before it is fully screwed home so that it is unusable. Strangely the adapter fits perfectly onto another adapter that I have for fitting a Sherline chuck to a rotary table so I am keeping it for that reason.I bought this thinking that it would enable me to fit my Unimat Chucks and collets onto a Sherline lathe but it won’t fit. As it referenced, it does not fit Sherline chucks with 3/4 x 16 tpi. An attempt to tap it with this trad shows that internal treads are incorrect.
