Clever gadget makes steering wheel controls work
Arrived quick and has everything you need to make steering wheel controls work on an after-market head unit. Mine is a cheapo £35 CarPlay/Android Auto unit from China, that can learn the controls based on the voltage of the KEY wire. The guide offers two alternative KEY wires, but on my case it was the KEY1. Connected it, and the earth leads, to the connectors on the head unit and it just worked! Could not have been simpler. I did call the suppliers to see if they had any recommendations, and they were helpful and friendly, but know nothing about random Chinese units, which is understandable.
