Simply put, I am amazed! I bought over 900 books in an internet auction. When we went to pick them up, the previous owner was sitting there in a wheelchair puffing on a cigar. I almost refused the books because I knew how hard it is to remove that smell, but I knew there were some really good books in there. My husband has always wanted to try an ozone machine for other odors, so I quickly agreed. This was one of the cheaper models. so I had my doubts as to how effective it would be. We had left the books in our 3 car garage, which meant that the garage now stunk. After reading the directions carefully, my husband set the machine for 1 hour with the garage door closed. We went together to check the results. No smoke smell when the door opened. No smoke smell as we approached the piles of books. We picked up a book and carefully sniffed. Nothing. But when we opened the book, we could detect the odor. So he set the machine for another 2 hours. No odors, even in books that were buried in boxes under other boxes! Imagine how much time and back pack it would have taken to try to remove the odors individually or in small groups of 900+ books. I am just thrilled. I was impressed with the output of ozone initially and pleased with my purchase. However, after just a couple weeks, the timer function quit working. I had to manually turn it off, which isn't convenient if you're not supposed to be in the room while it's running. I was not using it very regularly since it needs babysitting now, but less than 5 months after getting it, it isn't putting out any noticeable ozone anymore. It seemed like such a good deal, but definitely didn't last!

This has been able to get the bad smells out of my basement apartment. The previous tenant had dogs and did not take care of the place, and there were terrible urine and other smells after I moved in. The carpet was replaced and the walls were re-painted, but I could still smell it. This unit has a high output and did the trick. I was skeptical, but after doing some cleaning, and using this machine, it worked. I also used it to get some perfume smells out of clothes for someone else. I would highly recommend this unit. It is very solidly constructed. The timer has functioned well. I remember reading somewhere that it makes a strange noise, which it does, but isn't a problem because this should not be used while in the same room or even while in the same building! I bought to give rental car a clean out from smoking .trying to quit but South Florida driver will drive you NUTS. Works well we also used to do a clean sweep of mold spores in our house in the keys. 80%+ humidity and our ac quit while we were up north. Lots of mildew damage to cloths. this should help the stored goods. This unit is a good bang for the buck We own several hundred apartments. I have spent $500 + on Ozone units this is a great performer for the money The Ozone treatment really gets rid of the smoke odor

I've only had it for a week but it seems to work well. There is an odor from the unit I smell only when it is on. To me it smells like when you walk into a closed pool house. Almost a slight chlorine smell. It smells better than the bilge in my boat which is what I use it for. I don't run the unit while I am on the boat usually. I will probably set it up on a timer eventually to run when I am not on the boat. This unit was probably an overkill for my square footage but a boat bilge often has a holding tank and two hot motors in it that tend to create a smell that often permeates the boat. The unit does get a little warm on one side so I made sure to place it on a surface with no plastic bags etc.
