It's small, light weight and has a great display. The particular unit I purchased said that is was refurbished, but I saw l saw literally no wear or signs of prior use. The only issue I had was the charger that was included with the unit was not a genuine apple unit and was 12w versus the correct 10w. This caused the unit to stop charging at approximately 49% for unknown reasons. Went out and purchased the correct replacement for $16 and the unit charged perfectly. The unit is easy to use but without any exposure to apple products previously, getting it set up to function the way I want it to was a challenge. Luckily I had friends who helped. I am still am Microsoft operating system based user on my laptops and desktops but this is a nice escape and functions very nicely.

I was a bit disappointed. I really thought I was upgrading but the pad uses up the battery very quickly and the charger that came with it takes forever to charge the pad. I upgraded to this pad from my IPad 2 where the battery charge lasted forever and it only took a short time to recharge. I'm going to have to buy a different cord and hope that helps. But this iPad just uses up the charge so quickly. I really hope it's not a bad battery.

Now that MS has stopped supporting our Windows XP based computers, we decided to step into the 21st century and try an IPad. I have had an Itouch for about 4 years and have always loved it's simplicity of use. I also have an Android based Toshiba Thrive tablet for about 2 years which unfortunately has a lot of the same kinds of annoying problems as the PC's. My husband is in his late fifties and has never felt comfortable using computers. I handed him the IPad and within minutes he had classic rock videos playing on YouTube. He was like a kid in a candy store! I highly recommend this product for anyone who's not a techie. There's lots of info on the web about how to get the most out of your device, including syncing calendars and contacts between devices, extending battery life, etc. As you learn how to set these things up, you'll find you've learned a lot about your IPad. 😀 I wish the IPad was comparable not only with a Bluetooth keyboard, but also with a Bluetooth mouse. This would be great when I need to do some serious word processing or making flyers, etc. I bought a shock resistant case and screen protector for it at the same time so it would never be subjected to the scratches and dents I see so often on iPads for sale on eBay. This way if I decide to upgrade in a few years I can sell it I can get top dollar for it.Read full review
A high tech toy that can be used for work. If you need a tablet for staying in touch with the office, home, friends and family this is a great tool. Although Android tablets would fit the bill, the versatility of having a hi def screen and the ultimate list of apps lets me use my iPad for the kids when not at work. My kids Skype to a best friend living in Spain for a year saving a ton on phone bills. The kids facetime to me on my iPhone when I'm running errands and also call my sister to say hello. Is it a must need item? Short answer no. Long answer it's technology, packaging, support and depth of apps give it an edge for professionals, with the margin widening if you will use it outside work as well or with a good case on it for and with your kids.
This is a really GREAT item. I have a Kindle Fire, which I was more than happy with...which I still love for ebooks. My husband bought an iPad, and I liked it...problem was/is, he carries it around like it's his 'binkie'. So I bought my own iPad which I love, because I don't have to haul my laptop all over the house, and it's size is great for typing too. LOVE this thing...didn't think it would be a huge difference from the Kindle Fire, but I was wrong. Definitely worth the extra money. I bought mine used with a minor ding, and it works perfectly and I LOVE it!
