    Special Gift for Longtime Girlfriend

    I bought this as a special gift for my longtime GF; we have been friends since 1964, and are both turning 60 this August. I had just introduced her to Susan Branch because I had framed a calendar page from her "Heart of the Home" calendar on my wall, which she admired. All Susan Branch books are little works of art, with beautifully illustrated watercolors and titles; they are replete with recipes, photographs, brief sketches, and sprinkled with interesting quotes, all done in her unique calligraphic style. This one has a story about the author and her friend sneaking into the Beatles' hotel in the early '60s. My friend idolizes George Harrison to this day, so this added a special touch for her.
