      Lengthy, revealing interview about baseball in a long gone era.

      Rarely do modern athletes speak at length and biographically as do the old time players in this book. Gives you a real feel for the game from 1900-1960.

      Single best book about baseball I've ever read.

      I can't say enough good things about this book! It's opened up a whole new world to me and peaked my interest in pre-war baseball hall of famers. So thankful for this this wonderful link to the past.

      Most awesome book. A must read. Highly recommend. Was reading Wikipedia about Sam Crawford, an old time baseball player with the Tigers. and it mentioned the book as the "best baseball" book ever written. I decided that I must have it.
