For fans of the British television series Dad's Army, this film is a bonanza. Including the entire cast from the television series, it is a comedy about the Walmington-on-Sea contingent of the Home Guard, set in 1940. These men are part-time soldiers, and their civilian situations often impinge on their defense duties, much to the exasperation of the (retired) regular military men in their group. Their mettle is tested when they must capture three German aviators who have parachuted into their midst.

dad's army the movie a full length feature of fun.
I have been buying the dad's army series since I discovered this show at my local library. they have the best of dad's army from bbc america. Unfortunately this movie version is not available in north america. If you have a multiregion dvd player though this won't matter. "DAD's Army the movie" is just as good as the series and you get a full feature that keeps the laughs coming right up until the last frame. The cast is same as the classic series , which is rated among the top ten best comedies series anywhere. A big reason for this is the fantastic acting of the late great Author Lowe whose brilliance is preserved on film in this case. This film is a good companion to the series and a must have if you enjoy great comedy done by a superb cast who knew their characters very well by ...
