The cheaper gimbal set, fabricated from flat alloy bar.Rig tends to sit high though.An extra 1/4" 20 tpi tapping, central to the inner hoop, allows these flashy balance weights to be added readily, for extra stability.First, permanent, use Locktite. Add more as required. Two Gimbals so two pairs needed.Mass dampens camera vibration as a bonus. Heavy for the field!

    Small and simple

    I bought this as a small counterweight for use with an astrophotography rig as I was having problems balancing a small scope with a camera and extension tubes on the back. I have used it yet but it looks like it should work well. It screws on to a vixen saddle with the camera tripod sized screw so I plan to then attach it to the scope's vixen rail. I can add more weight if I need it by screwing them directly onto the counterweight so seems a simple but effective solution.
