About this product

Product Information

Chronicling a day in the life of Quick Stop clerk Dante Hicks, CLERKS captures the hilarity of the humdrum even as it raises slackerdom to existential proportions. From behind his counter, Dante desperately tries to exert some power over the crazy customers, his own love life, and his incorrigible friend and fellow clerk Randal--the type who sees nothing wrong in closing the video shop he works in to go rent movies from a better store.

    Guilty Giggles

It'll have you in tears laughing, if you don't mind the raunchy, crass, and/or crude humor. An amusing look at the banality of the lives of store clerks that, after years, brought me back for another look. I'm sure I'll pull it off my shelf again in the future.

  • Kevin Smith is Dark, Sinical and Golden in Clerks

From Miramax, Clerks is one of those Kevin Smith movies that has developed a massive cult following… and for great reason. This movie is hilariously sarcastic and dark look at the mundane life of two, obviously, clerks. Take the tag line for instance: “Just because they serve you.. doesn’t mean they like you.” Rolling Stone called it “Screamingly Funny!” New York Newsday called it “The Funniest Movie of the Year!” If you’re in the market for what the Detroit News called “a lively comic adventure,” Clerks dleviers with wholesale hilarity. Its one wild day in the life of a pair of overworked counter jockeys whose razor-sharp wit and on-the-job antics give a whole new meaning to customer service. Even while braving a nonstop parade of unpredictable shoppers, the clerks manage to play hockey ...

  • Work Sucks

I used to work in a video store and from what my district manager told me. This movie is the most STOLEN movie by employees. Now if that doesn't give you a good enough reason to watch it what does. Kevin Smith's movies are unique in a way because the dialogue in them is that which normal people speak. I recall back on a time in 10th grade when my teacher was talking about Dawson's Creek and he made the comment that no teenagers talk that way. Then you have a Kevin Smith movie where people are crude and straight to the point. Who doesn't know a character like Jay who swears every other word and only talks about sex and drugs. Now as for Clerks this movie is great on so many levels. It follows the day adventure of Dante Hicks and his so called day off. This movie has the employees of ...

  • 12 years ago in small town far, far away

I f any one has been living under a rock for the last twelve years should watch this movie. This a social moan of the why bother generation that anyone who has had a minimum wage job can identify with. Kevin Smith's first(some say seminal) film about the mundane life of a convenience store clerk serves as a rally cry to all who just don't really care about the regular life of sleep work eat and sleep. A must have for anyone who is a kevin smith fan, or just a film fan in general. I'm not saying that it is genius, but it's honest, and that is what lacking mainstream hollywood cinema.

  • Clerks Part One is the SHIZZLER

Before I get ahead of myself, Jay and Silent Bob cement themselves into history in this film, paving the way for such other Canadian act as "The Trailer Park Boys". This film is a genius work of art and you will laugh. You will feel pain for those independently contracted "Death Star" employees who were unknowingly slaughtered by "Luke Skywalker". This film is a comedy and it's shot in black and white to piss off the big movie companies. Behold this film. Embrace it. Canada and America and Libya and Iran and EVERYWHERE, even in Jasmine Revolution torn China, we all know how to laugh and we all should take the time to do so. This film greases the tracks of laughter for a freight train of fun.
