  • A Must Have for Clicker Trainers in Sport Obedience

Spector was the first of the "clicker trainers" to apply the work to SPort Obedience (specifically AKC) If you know Operant Conditioning then you will see that he has applied a very systematic approach. Is it the fastest way or the best way? No. Guiding the dog instead of trying to "capture" or "Shape" a behavior is much faster. You must be aware that "clicker trainers" have a strong ideology that they put in front of results yet I ahve personally called on some big names in clicker training to show me how they can call a boar hound of a boar from half a mile away, or how they stop Yukon Quest sled dogs all 14 of them not to engage a Moose, or how they train dogs to avoid snakes--they don't have answers). (although they claim they do-- There is far mroe content in this book than you ...

  • Simple and very instructional and is a great value.

This book is a very helpful when training a dog. Used properly it is invaluable to quickly get your fog complying to your every command. If staying with it you will be amazed at how fast this method works to shape your pup. I recommend it. Mark.

  • Very good book! Not a good beginner's book though...

This is a serious book for obedience training with a clicker. It is very in-depth and helpful. I'm not sure that I would recommend this as a first clicker-training book-get one written by Karen Pryor. This one can be hard to understand in certain places-but is great for clicker-training competitive obedience.
