Vintage Citizen Timepiece Restored
The timepiece is beautiful!, the restoration work is 85% Good, the strap that was advertised was not the strap that I received fitted to the timepiece, the straps had been fitted with lock pins that I could not get out, I then resorted to breaking apart the ghastly cheap tin strap with a set of pliers eventually finally freeing the beautifully restored case from the ugly straps. I took a walk down to my local watch store "Southern Watches - Cape Town South Africa" they stock a huge variety of straps, I decided to fit a hand made Royal Blue crocodile leather strap to the timepiece, the ~rich blue strap instantly restored this old Citizen to its former beauty. I timed the movement and it run like a tank it gains about 2+ a day nothing out the ordinary. Winding is smooth like fine sand, the ... Winding is smooth like fine sand, the gold coating is beautifully finished the only negative is the placing of the frame around the day date window on the dial, its slightly out of alignment but adds to the over all character of the timepiece, the stunning Mercedes hands really give this piece a subtle "Explorer" Like feel when reading the time. I also like that the natural patina on the indices it maintains that vintage feel. overall great value for money the new strap cost more than the timepiece HAHAHA, Awesome addition to my collection a perfect casual timepiece for an Urban Gentry.

Working mechanically Not so Great on the Eye!!
The watch works fine. When it was originally sold it would have been considered a Gents watch because of modern styling it would now be considered a Ladies watch. The gold batons and numerals on the watch face now look jaded against the new gold case plating. In particular colour on the day and date windows has suffered over time (no pun intended) It's OK but this is no great restoration.

Well worth the money
I went for a vintage watch because i won'ted a watch that not only was automatic and kept good time, but i never need to worry about winding it up, not like modern automatic watches i've had, which i have to wind every few days. Yours Mr C. Wise.
