Initially part of NBCs Mystery Movie series during the 1970s, MCMILLAN AND WIFE, like COLUMBO, was considered popular enough to get its own regular program. The light-hearted police series starred Hollywood actor Rock Hudson as Stewart McMillan, a former attorney who is named commissioner of the San Francisco Police Department. He has a surprisingly hands-on approach to police work, often becoming personally involved in criminal investigations along with his deductively brilliant but flaky wife Sally (Susan Saint James). Surrounded by a group of colorful characters, including his tough housekeeper Mildred and the dim witted Sgt. Enright (John Schuck), McMillan and his wife tackle some of the toughest cases in the city. MCMILLAN AND WIFE: SEASON ONE contains the first eight episodes of the entertaining detective show.

    McMillan & Wife NBC's crime fighting couple

    McMillan & Wife was part of the NBC Mystery Movie lineup that included Columbo and McCloud. Rock Hudson stars as San Francisco's newest police commissioner and Susan St. James as his inquisitive wife. As a police commissioner Stewart McMillan has to transition from being a criminal defense attorney of 14 years to figuring out how to catch the bad guy, mostly with the help of his wife.The pilot episode(Once Upon A Dead Man) sets the whole tone of the series. The chemistry of Hudson & James really comes across as you're caught up in each episode trying to help them solve the case. Add romance, action, mystery and really good storys and it's a winner.     Fanstatic detective pictures.

    McMillan and wife is such an old classic I love Sally and Mac characters. They made a great TV match detective couple. Adventure, romance, mystery just still a great classic picture. Looking forward to ordering more of this great picture. Thanks Jacquelyn J
