In this action/comedy directed by Adam McKay (ANCHORMAN) New York City detective Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) is more comfortable pushing pencils than busting bad guys. A meticulous forensic accountant, his numbers are never off. Detective Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) is Gamble's reluctant partner. Try as Detective Hoitz might to get back on the streets, an embarrassing encounter with Derek Jeter has left a sizable black mark on his permanent record. Detectives Danson (Dwayne Johnson) and Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson) are the complete opposites of Gamble and Hoitz: unwaveringly confident, they always get their man, and they do it with style to spare. When the time comes for Gamble and Hoitz to prove their mettle and save the day, their incompetence becomes the stuff of legend.

    Above average Comedy Buddy Movie

    There have been a squillion comedy/action buddy movies and you might wonder why we need another one, but "The Other Guys" is a pastiche of many of the others and you will enjoy the references. Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are good, but there is an excellent supporting cast, such as Michael Keaton and Steve Coogan and an almost cameo appearance from Samuel L. Jackson and The Rock as the cops everyone else wants to be, pretty much steal the show. There are plenty of laughs and lots of action, but some of the running gags, such as why the Will Ferrell character is irresistible to women really make it above average. I will watch it again and again and laugh every time at the same jokes the way I do with the Naked Gun films and in fact, cross Naked Gun with Lethal Weapon and you won't be far ...

    Brilliant comedy

    Detective Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Detective Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) are a joke at the police station. Can this down and out duo, nerd and hot headed tough guy, overcome a plethora of humorous obstacles, accidents, and misunderstandings to bust the bad guys in a high profile case and gain the respect of their peers?
