Fabulous book with straight forward recipes: first half vegan, second half vegetarian (although, in my view, all the latter can easily be adapted for vegans); offering really tasty meals, ranging from super fast to slow cooked dishes. Best cookery book I’ve seen in years.

Attractive but no general index and many pages have no page numbers which makes it hard to look recipes up. A wide index at the back cross-referencing the vegetables used would also be useful.

Really tasty, healthy recipes with a great variety of veg combinations I wouldn’t have thought of for myself. They’re easy to cook, the instructions are clear, they look fabulous when ready and there’s little washing up afterwards. I’ve used this book almost every day since buying it 2 months ago and don’t miss meat as the dishes are all substantial enough to feel satisfying, even the vegan ones. I’ve given copies of the book to my 3 kids

By far the best cookery book I have ever bought. This was a present for a friend as I already own a copy. My boys even eat cauliflower now - must be good. The only thing I would criticise is the amount of salt used. I always just halve it and it works out great. 10 minutes to prepare most of the dishes and 20 minutes to cook. What more can you ask.

Brilliant book. Ingenious and practical recipes- will be doing hard service for easy, quick delicious weeknight food- but would equally stand up to a posh tea if you were entertaining. Only had it a few days and made several recipes from it- all were so good and won me approval from the family. Highly recommended

Very different recipe book but I do think that some of the vegetables need to be sauted or steamed first as veg like leeks do not cook properly by just being roasted! They end up tough and burnt! If they were steamed before going in oven they would be really tasty. Many dishes need covering tightly with tin foil. The mix of vegetables and herbs and spices is brilliant. They just need a little more thought - a good book to follow but adjust as necessary for some really great dinners.

Book is well set out. Brilliant ideas using store cupboard and fresh ingredients. Recipes vary in complexity, most are quick and easy. Great for vegetarian and vegan eaters.

I bought this because I have a vegetarian relative who was coming to stay with the rest of his family who are meat eaters and wanted something to give me ideas. A lot of the recipes are imaginative and lend themselves to accompanying meat if you so wish, albeit very satisfying on their own. As it turned out the relatives were unable to visit but I've been trying the recipes anyway and not been disappointed. There's also a great section which guides you through making up your own dishes. On the strength of this I will be buying the other books in the series. And its just great just to have one pan to wash up!

It’s great. My friend gad it and I wanted one too. I also bought one for my vegan boyfriend so he can continue to make me nice healthy dinners. Thank you. I love that’s it’s vegan if you read the book one way and vegetarian if you read it the other way - magic!

Excellent recipes, easy to source ingredients with simple instructions in plain language (sans unnecessary literary histrionics, take note Mr Oliver). This book is required reading for those who would like to cook tasty, wholesome food with fresh ingredients. Highly recommended.
