    Fixed blade positions

    Direction of inserted fixed blades marked with a small arrow, could be much clearer. It would be easy to design it so the blades could not be fitted the wrong way round. I suspect a lot of the negative feedback re:- blades failing was because they were fitted the wrong way round, because of a simple design failure. Otherwise a very good kitchen tool.

    Size.

    The unit is very well made and easy to use. The only problem being although great in most respects it is too small. The chances are that many of the potatoes (Maris Piper and King Edwards) bought will be too big to fit without having to cut them down. Many of us like the long chips that we get from the larger spuds. If it was twice the size it would be excellent.

    Great force required to push potato, very little force required to bend flmsy thin metal construction, device cant push equally, just bends and binds

    The blades are not sharpened, they are just a grid of thin metal, so a fair bit of force is required to force a potato through a grid of unsharpened thin metal. The contruction of everything is with flimsy thin metal which with a little force will bend. so the pushing plate will come out of its track easily because the pushing plate needs to travel even and equally, but flimsy metal allows it, when it meets great resistance, and a great deal of force is required to overcome that resistance, that flimsy metal construction just bends and deforms. This is more like the model you would show investors of what size shape and design construction would be, so they get an idea of the product. but it is never used because it is only the model.
