    Worst Johnstone Book Yet

    I have read 24 of the ashes series and this last one does not even seem to be written by the same person. The story ends the 33 book series and is weak at best. I jumped from 24 to 34 because for some reason the price of the last 10 books went from about $5.00 a book to $27.00 a book. The book is just not up to par.

    Great Author

    I haven reading Bill Johnstone books since 1970s. The Ashes series were good but the westerns written by him and his neice, Jo and as good and maybe even better.

    What happened?

    I love this series but was disappointed by the last 2 books. In this one, major characters are killed/dead and the reader finds this out in casually written sentences, no fanfare, nothing. Sad way to see the General and his staff pass.

    Awesome Series!

    Although the book did not end the way I would have wanted it to end, it is what it is. It did leave you hanging; wanting to know what is going to happen next.
