About this product

Product Information

Lotus Extreme is racing simulation featuring a selection of 38 Lotus cars for competition on 18 international tracks, including authentic venues in England, Arizona, Florida, and Japan. Weather effects such as fog, rain, and snow affect track conditions that can lead to real-time damage during the race. Windshields will crack and shatter, tires will come off, and the chassis will dent, scratch, and crumple over time. The game also offers vibration feedback that varies depending on the vehicle, with certain cars eliciting a stronger response when approaching speeds of over 100 miles per hour. The frame rate is designed to run at a constant 60 frames per second as racers compete in one of five modes of play.

Players can choose from the following five options: Collection, Championship, Single Play, Multiplayer, and Challenge. Collection involves racing to earn all the classic, concept, and modern cars included in the game. Championship features a season of events where players attempt to achieve a number one ranking. Both Single Play and Multiplayer modes consist of a single race on a choice of courses, while Challenge offers a series of 22 objectives to complete. Challenges range from traditional driving tests, such as steering around pylons or braking before reaching a certain point, to fantasy elements, like jumping over a group of buses or delivering a pregnant woman to the hospital in time for delivery. A techno soundtrack by recording artist Hybrid provides the background music for each race and challenge.

The Xbox version of Kuju's Lotus Extreme is titled Motor Trend Presents Lotus Challenge, and is published by Xicat.

  • Great game with a large variety of lotus'

One of my favorite car companies is Lotus (I really like the Esprit). When I saw this game for the gamecube, I decided to give it a try. The graphics are good for the Gamecube, Xbox, PS2 era. There is around 38 different lotus' from the "7" to the Elise and even open wheeled machines. The cars have display damage when you hit walls, other cars, etc. The game has just about the same number and types of features of other racing games. The one thing that makes this game a little different is the steering. You can steer the car like in a normal racing game, or you can use there strange joystick like steering wheel option. I found that a little tough to master, so I just stuck with the traditional steering. I would say that this is a pretty average game. I almost gave it a "Four Bar Good ...
